C2C Archive One – Restoring a Lost Index Repository

Daily reports are released by ArchiveOne Policy alerting us to the Status of the server. Normally there are no errors.

If there is an Error – open the attachment (report.html) and scroll through the pages to isolate where a test has failed.

There is a test that checks emails can be retrieved from a given repository. It may inform you that the “Repository Retrieval Test (Repository_Name) has failed. Clicking on this entry shows the status “ACSS_SEARCH_NO_INDEX”

Using the ArchiveOne Admin Console, select the policy node “Mailbox Repositories”. Here you will notice that the failed repository “Repository_Name” has disappeared.

Check the actual location on the E drive and you will see repository still exists.

You will need to follow the steps below to recreate the missing Index reference.

Using BR_Year_2011 as an example of a missing Repository Index

In the admin console select Mailbox Repositories – in RHS window right click and select New Mailbox Repository. Enter the name of the missing repository eg. BR_Year_2011

Next, select None (Third Party Storage), Next

Browse to the E drive and select the missing repository name (ie BR_Year_2011) and the Index folder, Next

Now browse and select the same folder for the temp files. Next

Browse the missing repository name and select the Archive folder for the archive files. Next

Check the default Control archiving rate. Next

Retention set to Infinite. Next

Next (accept index data). Next

And off it goes to index

Once completed you will need to check the missing archive’s index file for any duplicate entry and if present, correct by following this document

Then select the System Health node and right click – Run Now. You should get the green light
