Problem
When adding a logo to a signature, the recipient sees your email as though it has an attachment.
Solution
The logo needs to be added in a GIF form so that the signature is shown without being an attachment
Part 1: Convert Image to Gif
- Note the image must be a GIF file for this to work correctly.
- You can convert a jpeg or png file to gif file by using ‘Paint’ application which can be found in All programs – accessories – Paint.
- Open the file and then go to the icon on the menu bar that looks like a list and select ‘Save as’
- From the drop down list select ‘Gif’ and save it in pictures for use later.
- Close ‘Paint’ Application.
Part 2: Create a signature for email
- To create a signature in Outlook open up a new message. Here you will find a drop down for signature. Select ‘signatures’
- Select ‘New’ and type a name that has meaning for the signature you are creating. It is here that you can create more than one type of signature for different people.
- In Edit signature type in the text details required.
- Then select the GIF icon from the menu bar
to select the Gif you created earlier in ‘Paint’. Click - Click OK and close the message and open a new message and hey presto! you have a signature without it showing as an attachment when you send the email.
