To Setup Mitel IP Phone in Brasil Rio Office

NB:         When entering numbers use star (*) to get a back space (delete)

                Use # to get a dot

Plug phone into network cable that is on the outside of the firewall as the initial configuration requires the phone to connect to the SBN Mitel switch

  1. Hold down < > keys together until the display says
  2. “View Network Parameters” or “NETWORK PARAMETERS?”
    1. Yes *
  3. Press # four times to get to “Modify Static Values”
    1. Yes *
  4. To scroll down press > one time
    1. Phone IP Address: 200#201#176#237  Press  >
    2. Default Gateway IP: 200#201#176#233 Press  >
    3. Subnet Mask: 255#255#255#248  Press  >
    4. ICP IP Address: 201#38#254#214  Press  >
    5. TFTP Server IP Address: 201#38#254#214  Press  >
    6. TFTP Server Port: 69  Press  >
    7. Press >  Press > Press > till you get to
    8. Ping Test? Press  No #
    9. STORE CHANGES Yes * (saving to Nvram)
    10. REBOOT NOW Yes  *

Let the phone reboot and get to the point where it says PIN Use Superkey to SEND

Enter   ***extension number       (ie ***1295)

Then press the Superkey (the blue key on a 5312 phone). It will then boot to a normal display like in the office with the extension number (in the above case x1295) and the allocated phone name.

 

Now that it works you need to change the phone IP address to DHCP.

Unplug the phone from the outside network cable – then

  1. Hold down < & > keys together and plug in
    1. “View Network Parameters”
    2. Yes *
  2. Press # four times “Modify Static Values”
    1. Yes *
  3. Use scroll > press 1 time
    1. Phone IP Address: 200#201#176#237  Type 0#0#0#0  Press  >
    2. Default Gateway IP: 200#201#176#Type 0#0#0#0 Press  >
  • Subnet Mask: 255#255#255#248  Type 0#0#0#0  Press  >
  1. Keep the ICP IP Address value at:  201#38#254#214  Press  >
  2. Keep the TFTP Server IP Address value at: 201#38#254#214  Press  >
  3. Keep the TFTP Server Port value at: 69  Press  >
  1. Press >  Press > Press > till you get to
  2. STORE CHANGES Yes * (saving to Nvram)
  3. REBOOT NOW Yes  * (Resetting Phone)

You can now plug into Local Area Network cable
