E-Mails Not Showing Images

Ever come across a situation where you have downloaded an e-mail, such as a Newsletter, and the images don’t appear. Instead you get plain boxes with red crosses in them. You have turned on the option in Outlook to automatically download these images and yet they still don’t appear.

This is usually due to you “Temporary Internet Files” area filling up.

The “Temporary Internet Files” area has a restricted size allocation and can reach it’s limit. Deleting the “Temporary Internet Files” quite often doesn’t resolve the problem. What you need to do is to move the “Temporary Internet Files” location and then move them back.

To do this open Internet Explorer and go to ‘Internet Options’

On the General Tab choose, Settings in the Browsing History section.

You will see the option to ‘Move Folder’. In here choose an obvious location such as ‘C:\temp’. Your PC will move the files and then reboot.

Your downloadable pictures will now work but the new location probably isn’t the best. So go into Internet Explorer and go to ‘Internet Options’

On the General Tab choose, Settings in the Browsing History section.

When you see the option to ‘Move Folder’. Choose somewhere where it’s out of the way. Such as  ‘C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft’. Your PC will move the files and then reboot.
